The Man with a Dream

I still remember my first meeting with Jaspreet Brar, the young boy from a small village near Ferozepur, who had made it very big in life. It was business as usual for Jaspreet on that particular day and he was in Ludhiana for his routine meetings for his business ‘We are Forever’. I had come into contact with him through LinkedIn and was very curious to know his success story. We planned to meet a couple of times but somehow the meeting did not happen. One fine day I got a call from him and he stated that he was visiting Ludhiana and we should meet up.

I was waiting for him at the Café Coffee Day Lounge in Ludhiana as it is a very popular networking and business meetings destination in Ludhiana and Jaspreet is a common visitor there. Out of the window, I saw a young man getting out of his sparkling silver color Volkswagen. And then I saw it was none other than Jaspreet Brar. You can feel the energy oozing out of him, the minute he starts talking. He is person full of life and is always very happy and positive. We ordered two large cappuccinos and then we, rather he, started talking. He started from where it all began.

As per his tale, Jaspreet was born in a small village in District Ferozepur in western Punjab. He belonged to a middle class family that depended on agriculture for their livelihood. Their village was situated close to the Indo-Pak border and was not a very developed and prosperous region. Jaspreet, right from

his childhood, was not very satisfied with living the usual life of an agriculturist in the village. He started off by trying to build a career as a singer, but wasn’t very successful in his pursuit. He also had a keen interest in sports right from his childhood days and used to spend a lot of time in the field playing sports every

day. He was a disciplined and hardworking sportsman and this led to him playing at national level. But this success did not excite him and wasn’t enough for him.

The Server came with our cappuccinos and then Jaspreet got a minute to pause. He mixed some brown sugar in his cappuccino and then again started talking. And now this was about his college life. After completing his schooling, Jaspreet started pursuing his under graduation from Government College that was affiliated to Punjab University. He was a topper during his first and second year of college and was a very popular guy of his batch. Jaspreet could clearly see where his life was heading. He would secure a decent job after college. But the problem was that he wasn’t satisfied with this, perhaps because this wasn’t what he wanted from life. He had very large dreams in life. Jaspreet had made up his mind that only setting up his own business could help him achieve his dreams. The year was 2014 and Jaspreet happened to meet his childhood friend, Iqbal Singh Malhi. Iqbal introduced him to the opportunity of Forever Living, a network marketing company based in USA that specializes in wellness products.

Jaspreet liked the opportunity and kept on thinking about it. After a lot of research and thought, it was in May 2014, that Jaspreet finally decided that this was it and he joined Forever Living. His family was not in favor of this decision but there was no stopping for him. Like in any new line, Jaspreet had to overcome many challenges during his initial period at Forever Living. In spite of the challenges, he grew very fast in the organization. Within three months he was promoted to the position of manager. The turning point came in his career, when he and Iqbal moved to Chandigarh and started their own group with the name ‘We are Forever’. There has been no looking back since then. After a lot of struggle, hard work, shifting a couple of offices, now ‘We are Forever’ has a very swank office on the prestigious Airport Road in Mohali.

The look on Jaspreet’s face of contentment when he told me that life is now good for him. He is happy to be financially independent. He and Iqbal are proud of the fact that they have more than a hundred people working with them in ‘We are Forever’. They have a very strong network in Punjab and even other states in

Northern India.

Jaspreet was excited as a child when he described his first travel abroad that was a trip to Dubai. This was a milestone and achievement in his life. At one point of time in life he could never imagine travelling abroad let alone staying at the JW Marriot in Dubai and dining at Burj Al Arab. These are the perks of working hard, he laughs in the end. Whenever he gets a little time off work, which is very rare, he listens to music that is his stress buster. You can often sport him with a book and a cup of coffee in any of the coffee places in the Tri-City of Chandigarh. He has a keen interest in cricket and also loves to listen to the motivational talks of Business Moguls.

Finally we finished our coffee and I was extremely charged up and highly motivated by the conversation I had with Jaspreet. Before the meeting would come to an end, I asked him what was his vision or his dream. I was moved and

inspired from his reply. Jaspreet’s mission is to change the mindset of the Indian people. He wants to inspire people to become job creators and not job seekers and to help young people work hard to achieve their dreams. In a nutshell,

Jaspreet wants to “ Forever make Entrepreneurs”.

As we were about to leave, like a true gentleman, he offered to drop me back to my office. I was highly motivated by him and the very next day, I joined ‘We are Forever’
